*continued story* Shizume's father sputtered at Uncle Fusashi. "That's plain robbery! I'll die before I pay that much to you!" Uncle Fusashi pointed at Shizume, who was posing. "Look, Risashi, Shizume's doing something cute and you can't get a picture of it!" he breathed in mock horror. Shizume's dad gasped, whirling around to look at Shizume. "What?!" "Daddy, look at me! Look at what I just learned!" Shizume piped up, delighted to have her father at last looking at her. Shizume father clenched his teeth, speaking hurriedly to Uncle Fusashi. "Fine, whatever. You can have your 20 bucks." He dug quickly into his pocket, producing a wallet and yanked out a 20 dollar bill. He handed it to Shizume's uncle. "Just get me get me that camera now!" he commanded. Uncle Fusashi chuckled and tossed the camera to him. Shizume's father caught it and spun around to face his daughter. "Alright, honey, do it that again!" he pleaded. Shizume struck her pose again, motioning with her little hand the hand sign of peace and smiling happily. "Just stay still, please..." her father soothed anxiously as he snapped the photo. "Perfect!" he exclaimed. Uncle Fusashi rolled his eyes. Shizume's father swooped Shizume up into a hug. Shizume laughed joyfully. "Spin around, Daddy, spin me around!" she called. *ended for now*

"That's right, Honey. Just keep doing that, while I take pictures..." Shizume's father encouraged his 5 year old, as he handled a camera in his hands. Shizume giggled and resumed prancing and skipping around the lawn. Her mother had dressed up her hair that morning and put in her in a pretty dress, and Shizume was so happy she was dancing. And Daddy loved it when she did anything cute. "Daddy are you watching me?" she asked breathlessly, stopping to look at him. "Of course, Sweetie." he promised. "My eyes are on nothing else." He was taking pictures at every cute move Shizume made. Uncle Fusashi, Shizume's cousin Keoshi's father, scoffed from behind. "Do you realize how creepy you look, Risashi?" Shizume's father scowled. "Shut up!" he yelled. "My daughter looks adorable, and I'm going to get as many moments of her as I can to admire later." Shizume pouted as she watched. "Daddy, you promised to keep your eyes on me!" Her small voice rose to a shrill to get her daddy's attention. Daddy looked at her. "Sorry, Sweetheart. Your mean uncle distracted me. Just do it that again, okay?" "Okay." Shizume replied sweetly. She twirled around again but when her father pressed down on the camera button to snap another photo, it only clicked dully. "Dang it, am I out of film, already?" her father fummed. "Cheap film...." he grumbled. He called out to Shizume's mother. "Hey, Sakura, we need more camera film." Shizume's mother's mouth fell open in shock. "B-but we just bought that yesterday! Did you use all that within a day?" Shizume's father shrugged. "Its not good enough for me then. And this child does something new every 5 seconds." He turned to Shizume's uncle. "Hey, Fusashi, give me your camera." Uncle Fusashi frowned. "You're not getting my camera unless you can pay for the film!" he remarked. Shizume watched her father frown back. "And how much do you want me to pay, exactly?" Uncle Fusashi smirked. "20 bucks." Shizume's father sputtered. "That's plain robbery! I'll die before I pay that much to you!" * to be continue

Shizume Kamarge stared sadly at the pile of Masato's luggage sitting on the grass. Her friend Masato was leaving today, to go to college in someplace far away. Masato had wanted to become a doctor since he was 7, and now he was going to do that. But Shizume wished he didn't have to leave. She hated people leaving, why did he have to leave too? Her cousin, Keoshi, trudged out of the house, scowling. Behind her came Masato, Masato's father and mother, Kenji and Mitsuki, and her own mother. "Masato, are you sure you have everything packed?" Aunt Mazari fretted. Masato nodded. "Yeah, Mom." Mitsuki, Masato's teenage sister, rushed forward, imprisoning the 12 year old in a crushing embrace. "Oh Masato, how are you going to survive without us?" she mourned. Masato struggled to answer through her tight hold. "I'd...like...to..ask...you ..that." Mitsuki released her younger brother. Shizume suddenly felt tears brimming in her pink eyes. She wanted to trap Masato in a hug and never let go. He was going away to a place she couldn't follow, like Daddy and Uncle Fusashi and Aunt Ryoko. And she couldn't stop him. Masato plodded over to her and Keoshi, he was trying hard to smile. "I'll see you in awhile, Shizume, Keoshi." Something rose in Shizume, and she couldn't hold it in anymore. She burst into tears. Shizume's mother slipped beside her. "Oh, honey..." she soothed gently, placing her hand on her daughter's shoulder. Shizume couldn't stop her crying, only cried harder. "I---I'll m--miss you, M--Masato!" she sobbed. Her cousin Keoshi scowled even fiercer then before. *to be continued later*

*continued story* Shizume gaped, shocked at what he just heard. Daddy cried? Daddy had cried when he was dying? He cried because of her, because of Mom? Shizume had never known Daddy could cry, she had never seen her father cry. He had always seemed so strong to her. And he was crying because he hadn't wanted to leave her? Shizume looked at her mother. Mom had tears streaming down her face. Shizume felt her heart had been stabbed and felt tears rushing into her own eyes. Kamajii was staring down at the floor. His voice continued sadly. "Fusashi...said his tears always haunted him. He-he didn't feel he could ever forgive himself for that day." Shizume mother was silent, sobbing softly. Shizume's tears gushed over her cheeks. Daddy cried over me, he died crying because of me... "Shizume?" a boy's voice pierced the silence of the air. It was Masato, coming down the passage. He came torwards her. "Where were you? Did you find---" Suddenly Masato stopped, alarm filling his face. "Shizume, why are you crying?" Tears poured down Shizume's face. "D--Daddy..." Shizume started before she broke down into sobs. She didn't have the voice to explain. Shizume stumbled over to Masato and grabbed at his clothes, and began crying into his shirt. Masato stared down at her. "Shizume..." he whispered, feeling like crying himself. Keoshi, Shizume's cousin, appeared around a corner. She had heard her cousin from her room. "Sh-Shizume? What's the matter?" she asked. Shizume's mother and Kamajii, hearing Shizume's sobs, came from the study. Kamajii's face was guilt-stricken. He hadn't meant for Shizume to hear what he told. Keoshi slipped beside Shizume. "It--its okay, Shizume, its okay..." she tried to soothe, hugging her. It wasn't okay to Shizume. It could NEVER be. Daddy had actually cried because of her, because he didn't want to leave her. Nothing would make the world okay now....

Shizume strolled down the hallway, her pink eyes searching the spaces of every room she passed. She was looking for her mother, to ask her something. She passed the living room, dining room and kitchen without glimpse of her. "That's werid...."Shizume pondered as she walked. "Mom's usually always in the kitchen..." She travled a bit deeper into the house, to the quiet sector where Masato's father Kamajii's study lay. Walking softly down the dark hallway, Shizume heard voices. Her ears picked up the sound of her mother's voice, in Kamajii's study. There she was! Shizume moved toward the room. "Sakura, do you--did Fusashi ever tell you the last moments he spent with...Risashi?" Shizume slowed to a stop at Kamajii's sad, halting tone. Her heart was stung with sudden fear of this talk. Daddy? Kamajii was talking about Daddy's last moments alive? What did Daddy do? Her mother responded to Kamajii's question, with wariness in her voice. "L-last moments? No, I never heard anything about the moment he died, I never thought to ask Fusashi. Why does it matter?" Shizume crept close to the door, to hear whatever came next. "Fusashi told me this, while back. When Risashi died....he knew he was dying, that's what Fusashi told me. He said Risashi kept talking about you, and Shizume. He was.... so upset about leaving you, Fusashi could tell....by the look on his face." Kamajii dropped into silence, appearing to have more to tell, but was reluctant to finish. Shizume peered around the doorframe, watching them. Her mother's face was pale, and she was biting her lip, but she spoke up. "You...look like you have more to say....why don't you tell me?" Kamajii looked sadly at her. "If this is too much for you, Sakura, I understand. Fusashi could barely talk to me about it when he told me." Sakura shook her head. "I WANT to know the rest about him, please." Kamajii took a deep breath. "Risashi was so upset, he cried..just before he died..." Shizume gaped, the horrible words sinking coldly into heart. Daddy cried? *to be continued*

*continued bio* Shizume then watched her cousin disappear suddenly, and joined the rest of her family in a vain search to find her. Shizume was crippled by the loss of her cousin, who she was as close as a sister, and faced yet another death. A year later, her mother caught an illness and died, leaving Shizume orphaned. Shizume then lived with old friends of her parents, Kamajii and Mazari Hashimoto. The next few years for Shizume were spent sad, and feeling like she was abandoned. Then a few years later, Shizume saw her long-lost cousin, Keoshi, return. Shizume was overjoyed Keoshi was safe, but soon was faced with a life-changing decision. Keoshi told her she'd gotten a house of her own, and wondered if Shizume wanted to come with her, seeing that Shizume was lonely, and questioning her purpose. Shizume, eager to be with her cousin again, and seeing living with her as a chance to be in a family again, She decided to go with Keoshi. Soon after coming to live with Keoshi, She met Malikai Arakawa, a friend of Keoshi, and her partner in the job they had as bounty hunters. Shizume was horrified upon finding that Keoshi was a bounty hunter, for she viewed bounty hunting as the cause of her father's death. Though Keoshi and Malikai both tried to convince her this job was their only way of making enough money, Shizume still fears for their lives. She also discovered that Kamoki, the cousin that died years earlier to the horrible, strange disease, was alive again. Keoshi explained to her that Kimiko, a witch she had run away to work for, had brought Kamoki back. Shizume then lives a happy life with her cousins and Malikai, cooking and acting as the homemaker, skills she learned from her mother. But Shizume unknowingly is in grave danger, and will soon entertwined with the destines of her cousin and other friends. The witch that her cousin once worked for, is seeking Shizume for the demon chakura inside her, and she is responsible for the deaths of her uncle and aunt. *ended for now*

"That chakura never would've been sealed if Daddy had been here! He would've killed them before they even got near me!" Shizume clenched her teeth firecly through her tear streaked face. "When he died everything went bad! I wish he'd never become a bounty hunter! That way he'd still be here and we'd all be okay!" Keoshi bit her lip and looked sadly at her crying cousin. "Oh, Shizume.." she whispered. Jurake, Malikai's father, was clenching his teeth too, he was furious. One could tell just by looking at him. Not one of the teenagers could speak in the next few seconds, no one knew what to say to her. Jurake raised himself up, he glanced around seriously at all of them. When he spoke, he was deadly serious. "I'm not gonna wait for this woman to come track Shizume down again! If Kimiko wants Shizume, then when she comes back, she'll kill all of you to get her. I won't let you kids live in this danger anymore! I will do whatever it takes to make sure Shizume, all of you, are safe again. The only way to stop this witch is to kill her, now." "But--but how?" Keoshi wondered. "Kimiko isn't beaten so easily, and she knows everything, she'll know we're coming." Jurake shook his head. "if she were truly powerful, she wouldn't need Shizume. And you all told me you were able to escape easily when you went to her hideout to save Kamoki and Minato. This Kimiko doesn't have everything working in her favor, I can sense it. That's why she's so desperate for Shizume, because apparently, Shizume will fix every problem she has." Shizume shuddered, drawing her knees to her chest. Jurake glanced at her. He stepped over to her, and placed his hands on her shoulders. "Shizume, I swear to you, we will kill her. I won't let her harm you, ever again." He smiled kindly. "I'll do what your father would do, I'll stop anyone from hurting you. I promise." More tears fell from Shizume's eyes as she looked at him. He was like Daddy, she had always thought that. Just for a moment, she was seeing her father again. She hugged Jurake hard. *ended*

"We have to do something! We can't just let Kimiko get Shizume!!" Shizume Kamarge listened to her cousin, Keoshi, rant and stomp around the lawn. Her throat tightened. She had never seen Keoshi so angry, she herself had never felt so frightened in a long time. Shizume had almost been kidnapped, jut a few hours ago. Shizume still shivered with the memeory. Kimiko...the evil witch that lured Keoshi away from their family into a life of crime, was after HER now. After the demon chakura that was inside her. Masato Hashimoto, her friend, slipped a hestitant arm around her shoulders. "Shizume, its okay now. You're safe, we're not gonna let anyone hurt you." he soothed her. Kamoki, Keoshi's little brother spoke up. "Hey, if anyone's asking, I'm fine after almost being stabbed through by that killer." His remark made guilt stab through Shizume's heart. He, and Minato had almost been killed by Haruki, that evil man who had tried to kill Keoshi once. Tears filled her eyes she glanced around at them all. They could've all been hurt, and that awful woman was sure to come after her again, and kill them all, and maybe even Masato's family too. And it was all because of that horrible demon chakura! Shizume bent over, holding her head in her hands. Her friends saw her. "This is all my fault!" Shizume cried. "None of this would've happened if I didn't have this stupid demon chakura in me!" She clenched one fist against her stomach. "I hate those village elders! I hate the Moon Village! I hate them all!" Tears streamed down her face. Masato held her tightly in his arms. Shizume shook with sobs. Her thoughts drifted to her dead father, he always came to her mind when she was sad or scared. Her father wouldn't have let anything terrible happen to her. And Shizume again felt how much she needed him in her life. "Daddy... I wish you'd never left!" she cried aloud passionatly through her tears. Keoshi and the others stared sadly, and were slightly stunned. They had never seen Shizume get so upset. "Its when he died!" Shizume sobbed.

7 year old Shizume sat with Masato in the playground. "You look really pretty, Shizume. I've never seen those clothes before." Shizume smiled happily. Her mother had bought the new outfit for Shizume just a few days ago. Mommy loved how it matched her pink bow that Daddy had always liked. "Thanks, Masato. That's really sweet of you." Masato turned a little red, and looked down at his feet. Shizume stared down at pretty pink and white flowers in the grass in front of her. Mommy would love flowers like this, Daddy had once said Mommy's name meant a flower. Just then, Shizume heard loud footsteps behind her. "Look, its the monster that burned down the Moon Village!" a boy's mean voice sneered. Shizume's happy face faded. She gripped her pant's leg. Bullies! She was scared to look behind her. But the two bullies only got in front of her. The boy bent down and dug into her her hair, pulling at her pink bow. "Shouldn't you be in your cage like all the other monsters?" the ribbon came loose from Shizume's hair, and the bully waved it mockingly in her face. Shizume felt tears rushing in her eyes. That was the bow her father had loved. He had always liked seeing her wear it. The two children were laughing hatefully at her. Tears began to fall down her face. Suddenly a fist came slamming into the bully boy's cheek. "How dare you call her a monster! You're the monsters, monsters!" Masato was yelling as the boy rubbed his face in shock. Masato lunged at the bully, knocking him to the ground. "Give me back that bow!" he shoutd as he pounced on the other boy. Masato held a clenched fist in the bully's face. "Give it back, or I'll make you sorry you met me!" The boy looked terrified. He handed over the ribbon, it was smudged with dirt. Masato grasped it then glare at the two mean children. "If you ever hurt her again, I swear you'll be sorry! Got it?" The two kids stared fearfully at him. Shizume pulled at Masato's arm. "Masato, please, let's go!" she pleaded. She didn't want any more fighting. *to be continued*

continued story* Shizume glared at the unconscious Haruki who was slumped against the wall. Growling, Shizume crept forward, getting ready to punch and fatelly wound the villian. Masato, somehow getting to his feet, gazed at her. This...wasn't Shizume. Masato wanted her back...he wanted the real Shizume. He wanted her to look at him again with those kind pink eyes and laugh at every clumsy, silly thing he did. He had to stop her now, before he lost her forever! "Shizume! Please stop!" Masato was running towards her, ignoring the blood and pain of his wound. Shizume turned around at his voice. Masato saw her golden eyes focus on him, she had grown long, fang-like teeth. Masato moved cautiously to her, trying to reason with her. "Shizume, please stop this. Look, I'm alright. You don't have to kill him, let's just get out of here!" Shizume narrowed her eyes angerily. She spoke to him in a voice much deeper then her soft-spoken kind tone, this one was harsher, biting, and enraged. "But...he hurt you!" Shizume looked at the bleeding injury in Masato's side. It did NOT look "alright." "He tried to kill you! That monster!" Shizume's anger was swelling again, she was losing consentration on Masato. Masato gulped. His interfernce wasn't working, in fact he was only fueling her fury. But he had to stop her, somehow! Masato jumped to Shizume, as she was turning back to face Haruki again. Grapping her by the waist, he pulled her close to him, kissing her. Shizume's eyes widened with shock. Masato didn't really know what he was doing, just something to stop his friend. He's do anything to get Shizume back to normal, and he hoped somehow this would work. The firey chakura flowing around Shizume began disapearing. Her long fangs grew shorter and vanished entirly, and her golden eyes at last faded to the normal pink. Masato pulled back from Shizume. "Shizume...?" he asked uncertainly. Shizume fell limp into his arms. Masato worriedly checked her wrist. Oh thank goodness, she still had a heartbeat. And she was Shizume again....

*continued story* "You know soft-hearted guys like you really piss me off...." An evil, cold voice slithered. Shizume gasped. Haruki stood right there in front of them! Keoshi and Malikai were lying either unconcious or disabled on the floor in front of them. Shizume clung to the wall, trembling. Haruki continued to glare upon Masato. "Makes me sick to you see wimps worrying about the lives of others. In battle fools like you are only in the way!" With that, Haruki slashed Masato with his long sword. "Masato!" Shizume screamed. Masato fell to the ground, gripping at the bloody jagged wound in his side. Haruki smirked, then towered over him, inching his blade to Masato's neck. He glanced at Shizume, seeming to take enjoyment from her obvious fear and horror. "Love is such a vile emotion." he remarked. "Makes a person blind to everything." He slipped the dull edge of cold steel knife against Masato's throat. He was toying with Masato. Haruki laughed coldly. "I hope you're watching, girl. Your friend's bright red blood will look good against the gray of this rock." Haruki drew back the sword, prepared to slit the doctor's throat. Tears pooled around Shizume's eyes. "Please no...Masato..." Shizume whimpered. That monster...she had to do something! Someone help her...help him. Shizume felt a strange, burning weight in her chest, it travled to her stomach. She hated Haruki. She'd give anything to stop him, to kill him. "Leave Masato alone....!" Shizume cried. She felt that burning feeling spill out of her, sweeping across her skin. A cloudy haze moved in front of her eyes. Masato watched in shock. Red cloudy streaks, looking like fire, were circling Shizume. "Shizume....?" Masato asked, he shivered looking at her. That fire, it looked almost alive, and evil. Shizume looked up at him. Masato gasped. Shizume's normal pink eyes were golden, cased in black sockets. "What the...heak?" Haruki muttered. This girl...she was surrounded by red chakura, that looked like fire. *to be continued*

*story continued again* Keoshi's mother smiled fondly at her daughter after the picture was taken. "Keoshi you look so adorable in that ponytail i did. I think I'll keep you in that style." she remarked as Keoshi as the other's came flying towards the house. Keoshi's mother had put up Keoshi's long green hair in a ponytail the day before. And now she was certain her daughter was going to keep that look. "My hair's not in my eyes anymore, now I can play better." Keoshi commented to her mother as she came to the house. "Yeah, you maul better!" Kenji yelled, sticking his head out from the kitchen. Keoshi giggled. "Kenji, stop arguing and eat please." His mother, Aunt Mazari, reprimanded. "Come Keoshi, let's gets you and Shizume and Masato food." Keoshi's mother offered. "Mommy, can we play tag again after dinner?" Keoshi asked hopefully. "Of course, if you still have light enough." Keoshi's mother agreed. "Now come on, let's eat."

*story continued* "I got you, Kenji! Now you're it!" Keoshi crowed, sitting on top of the 7 year old's chest. Kenji began yelling. "Hey, I wasn't even in this game! That's not fair!" "But I couldn't tackle Shizume, and Masato said no tag backs, so that left you!" Keoshi retorted. "Funny, you're bigger then me, I didn't know if I could do it." Mitsuki laughed at her brother. "She's right, Kenji. And she's only 5, you're 7!" Kenji glared at his twin sister. "Shut up! She surprised me, I didn't know she was gonna tackle me!" Mitsuki became serious and told Keoshi, "Keoshi, you better get off him. He's really mad." Keoshi hopped off him. Kenji sat up, scowling. "I'm not it. I'm not going to play, because I was never in it." Kenji grumbled. Keoshi pleaded with him. "Come on, tag's no fun with only three players." Shizume mourned sadly from the grass she sat on. "No one ever tagged me, yet." Masato heard her and patted her back. "I'm sorry, Shizume. I shoulda tagged you last time." Just then, Keoshi mother called from the door. "Dinner's ready! All of you come inside!" Kenji dashed away. "Alright, food!" he proclaimed excitedly. Mitsuki followed. "Hold on, I wanna take a picture of you three." Masato's father, Kamajii said. "You guys playing is really cute. Reminds me of me and your fathers." He gestured the kids togethor. "Come on kids, you squeeze in close." he held up the camera. "Masato, what is that you're doing?" Uncle Kamajii asked. "I'm doing what you did, Dad! When you were little." Masato explained. "Oh...you mean the "peace" sign." Masato's father realized. "Okay, you do that." he chuckled as he took the picture. Keoshi's mother watched them take the picture from the doorway of the house. She smiled. 5 year old Shizume eagerly built sand castles in the playground with her friend, Masato Hashimoto. Her father watched them from a bench in the park. "Come on, Masato, let's build it as high as the sky!" Shizume called enthusastically to her friend. Masato looked puzzled. "But you can't built anything as high as the sky, especially sand. That's illogical." Shizume pursed her lips. "Masato, you use that word alot." before Masato could answer her, a boy about their age walked up to them. They had never seen this boy before, but he seemed to know them, for he did not look shy. His cheerful face rested on Shizume. "You're pretty." he bubbled brightly. "Will you be my girlfriend?" Shizume stared, blush rising in her shocked face. Her friend Masato stepped in front of her. "No! She doesn't need a boyfriend, that's stuff for when you wanna get married." Masato jabbed a small finger at the boy. "Do you wanna get married now and have babies, young man?" The boy shook his head. "No, I'm only 5. I still wanna live with Mommy and Daddy." he said. Masato returned, "Then you leave girlfriends for later, bub." The little boy nodded, then looked one last time at Shizume. "I still think you're pretty." he complimented. Shizume was speechless as the boy went away. Masato scowled, hands resting at his sides. "Who are that boy's parents? They're not raising their son very well." he scolded. Shizume spun with thoughts. Boyfriends were for grownups, that's what Daddy said. He had told Shizume he didn't ever want her to have one. Suddenly, Daddy was behind her now, placing his hand on her lavender-pink hair . Shizume looked up at him, Daddy looked werid. His face was all scrunched up, like he was scared or sad. "Sweetheart, I--I think its time we went home now." her father said. He turned to Masato. "Masato, I'll drop you off at your parents, come on let's go." Then Shizume's father picked her up, holding her tightly in his arms as they walked out of the playground. Shizume stared up at him. "Daddy, what's wrong?" she asked.

*continued story* Hitoshi noticed her gloomy appearance and quickly tried to divert her attention. "Anyway, why don't I walk home with you? We're going the same way." Shizume agreed, "Alright." Hitoshi walked ahead of them slightly, Masato and Shizume hung back. Masato looked sadly at Shizume. He hated seeing Shizume sad. "Shizume, are you okay?" "I'm okay, Masato." Shizume replied softly. "No, I don't think you are..." Masato protested. Hitoshi glanced back at the pair. Oh man...he was the cause of all this. he had to think of a way to jack up the happy mood in the air, bring it back. Anything besides this sad atmosphere. Suddenly he thought of it. Smirking, Hitoshi called loudly to the pair. "Come on, you lovebirds. You can makeout as soon as you get to the house!" Masato and Shizume both flushed red. "What?" Masato gasped as he flinched. Hitoshi laughed and tore on ahead of the two. *ended for now*

Shiuzme led Malikai's father, Jurake Arakawa, outside the home. Her heart was heavy knowing she must tell him now, about what was sealed in her. Jurake had discovered, through research, about the moon-village's terrible deed, although he didn't know everything. He had no idea the child the demon chakura was sealed in was her. And he was their friend, almost guardian now, Shizume knew it was time to confess the secret. She had convinced her cousin, Keoshi, she would tell Malikai's father by herself. "What's he going to think of it, of me?" the fearful thought kept creeping into her mind. What if Jurake freaked out and thought she was a monster, like the Moon village? No...he'd never do that! He was too kind for that, she kept saying to herself. Yet, doubts plauged her mind. They reached a line of trees, and Shizume stopped to face him. "You're right, we have been a secret from you." she began. Oh, how she wished for all the courage in her this moment. "We didn't know if we could tell you, its--its really painful for to remember." Jurake looked worried. "If this is too hard for you, you don't have to tell me. Maybe Keoshi can." he offered. "No, I need to tell you, because it involves me." Shizume replied. "The Moon village, they wanted chance to capture a demon's chakura and seal it in a host, show it off to other villages about thier skill." She shuddered as the next memory came to her. "They needed a person that was vulnerable, a person they could snatch away easily." Here tears began to burn in her eyes. "I never thought a village could do it, it sickens me the way it made no difference to them." Seeing Jurake was confused, Shizume explained. "The--the person they chose as a host, was...me." The shock and horror on Jurake's face was so vivid, Shizume shrank back and became quiet. Maybe she shouldn't say anymore. But Jurake, after a few moments of silence, faintly nodded his head. "Go--go on. I need to know the rest." he murmured. Shizume took a shaky breath, the rest of the tale was a nightmare.

*continued story* Haruki looked wonderingly at this girl. She had red chakura surrounding her, a kind he had never seen. This chakura was unlike others, it didn't even look human. No human had red chakura that looked like fire. And the girl's eyes... Shizume focused her glare upon Haruki, her gaze filled with murder. Haruki flinched from her glower. Her eyes looked like a demon's. The chakura flowed around Shizume, lifting her pink hair. She gripped her right fist, and charged at the villian. Haruki hopped away from the grazed teen, just in time to avoid a fiery punch. Shizume wasted no time coming after him again. Haruki couldn't land a blow on her without his sword touching the flames, which travled up the steel and burned him. "Dang it, I can't escape her! And I can't fight her without getting my neck in trouble!" Haruki cursed. Suddenly, Shizume pounded her clenched fists into the stone floor. It crumbled beneath her hands, and Shizume then lifted fragments of the slaps, launching them at the evil teen. Haruki gaped as the debris came flying at him. That stone weighed more then a ton....and she picked like it was a...pebble... The crushing bolders slammed down on the 19 year old. Haruki felt his arm and leg being rained on by the rocks, he collapsed. Shizume saw the criminal fall, and moved in on him, for the kill. Haruki lay still in front of her, pinned by large rocks. He was unable to move, his sword trapped in the debris as well. Shizume loomed over him, glowering. Haruki saw her murderous glare, and acutally shook. Shizume leaned down and grasped the boy by the arm. Haruki thought his arm would be broken in two by her vice-like hold. She flung the villian across the room, and his body slammed against the hard wall. Haruki screamed in pain, his spine felt snapped in two. Shizume wasn't done yet. She swooped over to Haruki, drawing her arm back to punch him, hard. The super-human strength behind that punch would kill Haruki with one strike, if given to the chest. "Shizume, Stop!" *continued story* A gaping wound was gouged into Keoshi's middle. Shizume gasped and lifted her arm in horror. What--what happened? Why was Keoshi covered in blood? The truth came before her in a flash. No...Keoshi couldn't be dead. She couldn't. She felt her heart sinking. As Shizume trembled in horror, Kyoko bounded up behind her. Her face bright with happiness and relief. "Malikai, Keoshi, you're back!" Kyoko clapped her hands joyfully. Shizume's throat tightened as she watched. "Kyoko..." she started, but was unable to finish. How could she? How could she force the words out? How could she break Kyoko's shining face with the terrible words? She remembered the awful day her uncle Fusashi had come to her home, after being gone all day with her father on a bounty hunting mission. Uncle Fusashi had brought Daddy home, dead. She remembered how horrible it had been for her mother, for Uncle Fusashi, for everyone. Shizume lifted her hand to her temple. name: Shizume Kamarge age: 16-17 personality: very sweet. Although she's often sad as well when thinking about her parents, and other family close to her that died. family: a father and mother, (both dead). She also had an uncle(dead), and her cousins, Keoshi, Kamoki, and Kyoko(all alive) bio: Shizume had a happy childhood up until she was 5. She had loving parents, who adored her. Her father worked has a bounty hunter, capturing criminals that ran from the law. One day, while trying to arrest a wanted murderer, her father was shot by the criminal and died. Shizume and her family was devastated by the loss, but Shizume was to soon have another tragedy. The Village Hidden in the Moon, in which she lived, was plotting to create a demon host and use it as a war weapon. They stole the chakura of the 4-tailed dragon, and then kidnapped Shizume to seal the chakura inside. The village elders had hated her father, and saw using Shizume as the demon host a good way of revenge against him. The young Shizume couldn't handle the evil chakura, and when it was sealed inside her, she lost all control and begin burning down the village. Before she could go too far, her mother, and uncle arrived to stop her. Her mother succeeded in calming Shizume down, and getting her back to her normal human looking appearence. After that horrible event, Shizume and her entire family secretly moved away from the Moon village, so the village couldn't use her as a weapon for war. Shizume had no memories of the chaos she caused, or of the chakura being sealed in her, so what happened she was oblivious off. Life for Shizume then became happier then, until 2 years later, when her uncle, aunt, and cousin Kamoki died of a mysterious illness. Shizume was greatly upset by their deaths, particulary her uncle, who she had come to see very much like her own father. Her cousin Keoshi, however, was destroyed by her parents and brother's deaths, and Shizume worried over her cousin for the next few years. *to be continued*

"Hey, Shizume, you ready to go?" Shizume's cousin, Keoshi asked. Shizume emerged from the room she stayed in. It would be the last time she would walk out of this room, down these halls. Shizume was leaving the the home she stayed in with old family friends, the Hashimoto's. Shizume always felt her throat tighten when she thought of it. The Hashimoto's had been like family, and they had taken Shizume in as an adopted daughter after her mother died of pnemonia 2 years before. But, Shizume, kept remembering, she was going to live with her cousin, Keoshi. Keoshi, who had been missing for 2 years. Shizume had missed her cousin so much, for they were like sisters. Now Keoshi had come back, and offered Shizume a chance to come with her. Keoshi had said it was her choice to go, but Shizume could tell Keoshi needed her, and hoped she might come. So Shizume had agreed to come, even though her conscience was nagging her. Was she being selfish? The Hashimoto's loved her like a daughter, and they had lost so many people they loved already: Keoshi's parents, her parents, and Keoshi had gone missing for so long. If Shizume left, would they be losing another loved one? Shizume stepped out the door, gathering her things she planned on taking to Keoshi's new home. Keoshi was waiting for her outside. "I'm all packed." Shizume told her. Mr. and Mrs. Hashimoto, or Uncle Kamajii and Aunt Mazari, as Shizume and her cousins called them, were standing on the steps. Aunt Mazari was waving. "Goodbye, dears. You be sure to come visit, okay?" She said. Again, guilt tore at Shizume's heart. It felt she was leaving her own mother and father. She whirled around to face them. "Is it really okay for you guys if I leave?? I don't want to make you sad!" Uncle Kamajii leaned down, resting his hand on her head. "Shizume, you go on. Your cousin needs you, we're not hurt by that. How can we keep you from your family?" Shizume bit her lip. She threw her arms around Kamajii, then gave another hug to Mazari. "I'll visit soon, I promise!" she vowed.

"Oh, Keoshi, Malikai, be careful! Please don't die!" Shizume pleaded in her thoughts as she and her friend Masato Hashimoto watched their two friends battle. Keoshi and Malikai were battling the evil Haruki, a boy who had kidnapped Keoshi once, and nearly murdered her. They were all, she, Masato, Malikai, Keoshi, and Malikai's assassin partner Hitoshi, in the evil Kimiko's underground lair. Kimiko, the evil witch that her cousin had once worked for. Kimiko had kidnapped Kamoki, Keoshi's younger brother, and Minato, Masato's younger brother. Shizume and the others had come to rescue the young boys, and been promptly put in danger's way. Keoshi and Malikai were fighting Haruki, and Masato and she could only watch helplessly. Shizume was not a fighting type of person. Masato wasn't either, she and he had only come to be the medical team. Shizume now wished she could do something, ANYTHING to help her friends and get them all out of danger. Shizume gazed at Keoshi and Malikai while Masato glanced to the side. He noticed Minato and Kamoki, huddled in the corner of the room. They had succeded in finding the two boys in Kimiko's lair, both appearing unharmed by her. Masato waved franticly to them both from behind the wall he stood. "You idoits!" he hissed. "What are you still doing here? Get out! You have the opening!" Kamoki looked at him, then at Keoshi and Malikai, and at Hitoshi, who was fighting Kimiko herself at the other side of the room. "But---" he began. Masato cutt him off. "We came to rescue the two of you! You have to get out while you can! We'll be behind you guys soon!" Kamoki at last nodded reluctantly, and he and Minato fled through the door. Masato watched them leave, then turned hurriedly to Shizume. "Get back behind the wall, Shizume! You shouldn't be seen! That Haruki could see you and take you hostage!" Masato urged her. Shizume moved almost completely behind the mass of stone wall. A tall shape, weilding a sword, appeared in front of Masato. "You know, soft-hearted doctors like you piss me off."

Shizume Kamarge and her friend, Masato Hashimoto, strolled down the road that led from town to the home Shizume lived in with her cousin, Keoshi Kamarge, and friends. Shizume recently began training as a nurse under Masato, who was a doctor. They had finished their work for the day, and now Shizume was going home, Masato had insisted on going with her. They were deep in conversation, sharing about memories they had as children together. Footsteps vitbrated through the woods then, and the two looked up to see Hitoshi Armesha, Malikai's former assassin partner, coming through the woods. He saw them too, and waved. "Hey guys!" Hitoshi greeted. He had just come from a mission as a bounty hunter. Hitoshi had been on the run from assassins when they first met him, and was almost killed before Malikai and Keoshi saved him. Hitoshi now lived with them all, for Malikai insisted on it. Hitoshi had quickly become their friend, and had taken up the profession of Malikai and Keoshi's, and just like them, had become a bounty hunter. And so far, Hitoshi was enjoying it well. "Hi, Hitoshi." Shizume returned. "Where are Keoshi and Malikai?" "Oh, they're off on another mission. I just took a simple one for myself today so I could keep the money all for me." Hitoshi replied. "You two just come from the doctor's office?" he asked. Shizume nodded. "I've been learning so much lately. I love it." she said happily. Hitoshi shuddered. " I don't like doctor's jobs. Bunch of blood and medicine and ugh!" he shook his head at the thought. Masato frowned. "Yeah, and they just happen to save you." He was a doctor himself, and loved the job. Shizume laughed. "I remember Daddy used to say that about it. He was scared of doctors too. I remember the time he freaked out when Uncle Fusashi was taking him to your father, Masato. Daddy was hurt, but he didn't trust a doctor to fix him, he thought they would make it worse... " She grew quiet. Talking about her dead father always made her sad. *to be continued*

"I'm gonna get you Masato!" Keoshi laughed as she dashed after her friend. She, Shizume, and Masato were playing tag outside Keoshi's house. Shizume and her parents, and Masato and his family came over to have dinner with Keoshi's family. Keoshi caught up the heaving Masato and tackled him to the ground. "Tag, you're it!" Keoshi exclaimed as Masato landed to the ground. Keoshi ended up sitting on Masato. "Opf!" Masato grunted under Keoshi's weight. "Come on, Masato, you're it now! Come and chase us now!" Keoshi ordered happily, getting up off her friend. "Keoshi, you're being too rough!" Keoshi's father laughed from where he watched them. He was leaning against the outside wall of the house, talking with Shizume's father and Masato's. "I don't want you hurting Masato or Shizume, be more careful." Keoshi's father cautioned her. "I can't help it if Masato's small Dad, he's just so easy to sqaush!" Keoshi defended. Masato puckered his face. "Easy to squash? You mean like a grape?" he fumed. Shizume's father burst out laughing. Keoshi's dad glared at him. "Its your fault, Fusashi. You taught your daughter to be a fighter, now she's being one!" Uncle Risashi gasped through his laughter. "Shut up! I'm just trying to teach her to protect herself!" Keoshi's father yelled. Masato, meanwhile, snuck up behind Keoshi and tagged her swiftly on the shoulder. "Ha! Now you're it again!" he laughed and cuked away from Keoshi. "Hey!" Keoshi complained. "No tag backs!" Masato said, as he ran away from Keoshi with Shizume. Keoshi pouted, then looked for someone to tackle. She couldn't tackle Shizume, Shizume got hurt too easily. Suddenly, she saw Masato's older brother Kenji and sister Mitsuki on the edge of the clearing, watching them. Keoshi smiled devilishly. Then she took off towards the two twins. Kenji stared uncertainly as the 5 year-old rushed up at him. "Keoshi, what are you--" that was all Kenji got out before Keoshi pounced on him. "Haha! You're it now!" Keoshi crowed as she sat on Kenji's chest. Kenji began yelling.

Masato an Shizume waited in silence on the bench as their friend Keoshi skipped to them. "Hi, Shizume! Hi Masato!"Keoshi said happily as she plopped down beside them on the bench. Neither of the two children replied to her greeting. They looked sadly down at their feet. Keoshi leaned over. "Hey, you guys are wearing different clothes then when I saw you earlier..." she commented. Masato bit his lip, looking nervously at Keoshi. Shizume felt panic rising her chest. They couldn't tell Keoshi about the mean bullies in the playground! She'd get very angry. And Shizume didn't want more fighting because of her. Masato tried to explain the change of clothes. "Well, Kenji pushed me in the dirt, and I had to change my clothes." Masato mumbled. Keoshi raised her eyebrows. That still didn't explain why Shizume was different, and wait a minute... "Shizume, where's your bow?" she asked. "That's the bow, your dad gave to you, right? I thought you said you'd never take it off, even when you were sleeping." Shizume looked sad. "It--it got dirty...Mommy's washing it." "But why--" Keoshi began, then stopped.Masato and Shizume both looked really upset about something. "What's wrong with you guys? What happened to you?" she asked, puzzled. They looked sad, just like they often did if someone picked on them... Instantly Keoshi was suspisious. She narrowed her eyes at Shizume. "Shizume, did someone pick on you guys?" Shizume looked up, startled and paniced. Keoshi glared at Masato. "Someone did pick on you, didn't they? What happened?" she damanded.

Masato Hashimoto walked into Shizume's room to see how she was fairing. "Hello, Shizume!" He greeted as he approached her bedside. "You don't feel well, am I right?" Shizume had caught the flu and felt like she was on fire. Shizume's reply was a groan of pain. "Don't worry I'll give you some medicine that will help." Masato reasurred her. After he finished medical school, Masato was one of the most acomplished young doctors. "Shizume, I need you take the medicine for me, ok?" The teen girl nodded and took the droper from his hand and put it in her mouth. "Okay..." Masato lifted himself out of the chair he was sitting in and said to Shizume, "I'll check up on you in a little while." He walked out of the room and went to talk to Shizume's cousin, Keoshi Kamarge. "Oh, hey Masato. How's Shizume?" "Well, I gave her medicine so she should get better." He said with a smile. "But, I should warn you that the medicine I gave her might have some werid sidefects." "Like what?" Keoshi asked "Oh, nothing harmful. Just saying silly things, like 'I'm a fish!' or just babbling incohorently." Masato cautioned. "Oh well, at least it won't hurt anything." Keoshi remarked. The two of them talked for awile, remebering the times they and Shizume used to play with each other as kids. They reminisced for a half hour, Masato then went to check up on Shizume. "Well, I'll go see if she's gotten any better." As he walked into the room he saw the frail Shizume laying peacefully on her bed. He smiled and walked up to her then placed his hand on her forehead, sighed, and put his hand down. "Well, your fever has gone down, but not enough..." His eyes wandered for a moment, but then Masato was brought back to Earth by giggling in his ear. "Oh Masato, you're so silly!" Came the voice of Shizume "Huh?" He stuttered. "But that's why I love you!" she giggled. "S-Shizume? are you--" as Masoto spoke Shizume got out of her bed, and placed her hands on Masato's face. "Shizu--" before he could finish he felt warmth of Shizume's lips on his.

Okay, if Keoshi had died when Haruki killed her, then this is what would have happened: Shizume would have been kidnapped by Kimiko, who wanted the demon chakura that lived inside of her. Keoshi wouldn't be there to protect Shizume, so Shizume would be abducted easily. Kimiko would have taken Shizume to her hideout and extract the demon chakura, which would would kill her. A very horrible end for her, you see. But Keoshi does NOT die, Keoshi lives, so this does not happen, thank goodness.

Shizume Kamarge paced in circles around the room, staring anxiously through the front window of the house she lived in with her cousin Keoshi, friend Malikai, and Kamoki and Kyoko, Keoshi's brother and sister. She was worried, if that term was correct to describe the panic she felt. Keoshi had been kidnapped by someone while she went out to the bounty hunting agency she worked at. Mailkai had come bursting into the house, loading up his guns and hastily informed of what had happened. Apparently, he had heard that a strange boy was looking for Keoshi in the village, and Keoshi had mysteriously disappeared shortly after. Malikai had then stormed out of the house quickly, promising he would come back with Keoshi safely. Shizume was frantic with worry, it had now been hours since he had left, and now the sun was begining to set in the sky. Shizume's mind thought of all sorts of horrors that could've happened to them. Oh, curse this day! This horrible day was cursed. Her father had been murdered on this day over 11 years ago. Now Keoshi was in terrrible danger or worse, was this day to blame for it? She stole a glance for the thousandth time out the window, hoping she would see them. Kyoko Kamarge, Keoshi's younger sister, sat on the couch. "Do you think they'll be alright? Will Malikai come back?" she asked, nervously rubbing her fists together. Shizume gave a smile, though she knew it looked weak. "I know they will, Kyoko." They had to. Suddenly, Shizume caught a glimpse of a figure through the window, slowly coming through the woods. She gasped. "Malikai!" she leaped to the door, threw it open and raced outside, Kyoko and Kamoki a second behind her. Shizume panted as she ran towards Malikai, and noticed her cousin Keoshi laying in his arms, she halted. Was Keoshi hurt? "Keoshi!" she cried out. Malikai's face fell as he heard Shizume call. Shizume noticed his bleak expression, and wondered at it. "Malikai?" she called. "what's wrong?" she took a step towards them, then noticed blood, so much blood covering Keoshi.
